Default Clear bra / paint protection

Does anyone have one of these applied to their LS? What do you think of it? Does it work?

How does the paint hold up on the early 01-04 Lexus LS430s? I do know that manufacturers changed the formula on paints around this time due to environmental regulations. I wonder if the early paints 00-03 were harder and less chip prone. I never searched for posts for paint issues. Clear bras are always a great option. I have one on my Infiniti and it has saved my front bumper numerous times from road debris.

Oh, clear bra works to prevent paint chips, that's for sure. How it looks and what you're looking for, that is up for debate.

Depending on your vehicle color, you'll either see almost no edge line, or you'll see if very clearly. If you have a light color like white or silver, then you won't see the edges much because it'll blend in with the dust and stuff. If you have a black car, then clear bra is not an option unless you don't care about the dust line that will be there about two days after you wash your car.

The day I was going in to get clear bra for my LS, there happened to be a black Porsche sitting around and there was just a SUPER light film of dust and it settled and made the edge of the clear bra just stand out. For some reason, that bothered me, but then getting a conventional vinyl hood bra did not bother me. call me crazy.

My thought is, the "clear" bra is suppose to be clear so that I can't see it during normal viewing. If I can see if clearly, then it's not clear so it has not served it's purpose so I might as well get a regular bra.

With occasional removal, waxing, and cleaning, the conventional bra has been fine on my RX for almost ten years, so I expect the same with my LS.

It's a little late (!!!), unless you just got the car painted. Clear shields are applied to new vehicle paint. It makes little sense to cover up all the defects in the paint now.

Do the LS430s chips excessively? Any more than other cars of the same vintage?

An idiot kid hit me today, so yes it is going on new paint. My LS is white. Is there a shop in the DFW area that anyone can recommend?
