Default Just got 2001 LS 430

I have had 2 LS 400's 92 and 95. I really planned to drive the 95 forever. It only has 134,300. I bought it with 78,000 back in 2007. But a lady in a civic running a red light had other plans. Hit my right front wheel and bumper/fender. $4500 in damage, an "Economic total" is what Insurance called it.
So... I found an 01 LS 430 with 106,000 with Navigation and Mark Levinson.
The price was right, so I snatched it up.
The only thing is that the sub-woofer in the back deck rattles with moderate base from just the radio. Put in a CD and its worse. Im sure the sub is blown.
Any idea to the cost?

I've been told that the 430 is a completly different car. All I can say is wow.
It feels bigger, its really the same length?
It makes me smile to look out in the driveway, makes the whole dealing with insurance bearable.

You didn't see this? It's here on the first page of the 430 forum. Post #2 has a link to an earlier thread; a lot of info, including the possibility that the sub itself might not be blown. Lot's of paths to explore that will save you money compared to the dealer!

Sounds familiar. I had a 98 LS400 that was totaled and I replaced it with an '02 LS430. Wow. I did not think I could be more impressed with a car but I am. From the suspension to the smog sensor (air recirculate) to the auto rain wipers. What a car. Wonder what awaits in the LS460?

How bout using an 8 inch JL sub as the replacement. WHen I had my line out converter for my amp installed my rear deck was removed and it looked like it could integrate pretty easily... Even a cheaper W0 could sound good.. Dunno if they have the JL audio W3V3's in 8's though.. Just my opinion..
