Default bodywork question

I had the misfortune, or should I say stupidity to back my 04 LS into my garbage cans. I have a dent at the drivers side rear wheel flare. I have an estimate to blend to the filler tube but not into the back door from a mega dealer, and an estimate from a Toyotas dealer. Toyota dealer feels he should blend into the rear door as metallic silver paint can stand out if it is not blended 12 inches at least pst the primer and prep work of the dent. The estimates are $750 and $875. Ya it ticked me off to have to paint it but it has 96k on it and is not a spring chicken any more. Any thoughts Thanks in advance

Ask your neighbors and friends about quality local independent bodyshops. I've getting quotes from three shops for the work needed on my new LS:

- One was recommended by State Farm when I needed work on my CTS. They did a great job.

- The second is a top-rated local shop by local surveys and did good work on one of my son's cars.

- The third is recommended by my Lexus dealer.

I should have all three quotes later this week and I'll compare them line-by-line.

blend into rear door would be paint on the door also? Blend means not to stop at a panel or door line which if they did would be most noticeable. I guess I'd ask that they blend to filler and see if that does it - it its a good blend they can stop there. If not you can ask to have it extended. Minimize the over paint would be my advice unless necessary.
