Old School Used Car Ad
While the LS430 is one of the best cars on the planet, when shopping for one, it is still a used car - and that means being a careful shopper. These days we're used to hearing about the overseas sales, hijacked eBay accounts, stolen pics, and other scams. So, it is almost refreshing to see an old fashioned shaggy-dog ad that paints a wonderful picture and may be completely true, but it only tells part of the story. (In deference to the owner, who may be a member here, I won't post the link.)
KCLS430 inspired me to check out some cars like his. I came across one from a private seller in the southwest, a non-smoking retired doctor selling his personal car with low highway miles because he bought a newer Lexus. The pics are in front of a nice home, with one pic having a newer car in the background. The seller requires cash or a cashier's check from a local bank.
All this generates a wonderful mental picture of a quaint gray-haired retired doctor ... taking long freeway drives to visit his grandkids ... doting over his LS430 with the best of Lexus service ...
So, I checked the history of the car and saw it started life in that small southwest town of Brooklyn. You know, the Brooklyn that is on the southwest part of Long Island, NY... where the car had an accident in the next county ... before it was titled in Chicago ... and then titled in two southwest states.
Touching stories like that bring a tear to my eye.
