Welcome to the LS430 family...but you can't not post pictures when you announce yourself without folks hinting that you should
On the mat clips, yes, they should be attached to your floor carpet. If you are missing the grommet around the hole in your carpet, then the clips will not hold. You will need to get that fixed. When I purchased my CPO, I had the dealer fix the one whole missing the grommet and the mat clip They did it free. Actually, I bet if you don't get clips with your mats when you receive them, just go to the dealer and ask for new clips and get them to fix your carpet where it is missing the grommet (again, without the grommet, the mat clip will not hold).
Good luck with your mats. BTW, I sport both the all weather Lexus LS430 mats and new cloth mats. Even though it rarely rains here in Sunny San Diego, when it does, it is nice to have those all weather mats to keep the inside clean. If snow was involved, I would definitely get them.
