Default Windows squeaking

My windows have been squeaking for a while now and I was wondering if there was some sort of lubricant that was supposed to be used. I figure WD-40 would work pretty well but I wanted to get your guys opinions first.

Yes WD 40 will work but I would advise you to spray it on a Qtip first and then run that down the channels the windows go up and down in. It wll help you avoid a mess. It will take a little longer but it 's worth it. By the way have you seen the new cans of WD 40 with the built in little tube..relly a cool idea.
