Default Replaced Wipers on 01 LS430

I recently replaced my stock wipers with ANCO brand replacements. They installed and worked okay, but the wipers made an annoying "thunking" sound. I checked the forums and found that other people have experienced the same thing. So, I went to the dealer and bought o.e.m. wipers. They work fine and are quiet. It cost me a few $$ to learn this lesson, so I thought I would pass it along.

I HATE the wiper design on the 04-06 LS430s. Not sure if previous generation is like this, but the drivers side blade is 22" long, and the passenger is like 16" long.

Not only does the lopsidedness really annoy me just to LOOK at---as the looooong stroke on the drivers side goes with the teeny mini-wipe of the passenger, but concentrating to see THROUGH the driver side mechanical/contraption/assembly/ and linkages gives me a headache when the wipers are on!!!

The linkages and rods and mechanical pivoting points, etc on the drivers side is like 3" WIDE, and I find myself MOVING MY HEAD SIDE TO SIDE to see the road as the wiper swipes the windshield. People probably think I'm imitating a pigeon!!! lol

VERY ANNOYYYYING!!! I HATE the design!!!

I've learned my lesson before. I stay OEM...it just isn't worth the hassle... My wife must have tried about six different wipers on her Toyota Camry before I put an end to that nonsense and went to the Toyota dealer. Thunk....screech...thunk...screech...

Certainly not changing anything on the Lexus!!! Inserts aren't very expensive.

As for changing the Lexus wiper design.... I never would have thought it would bother someone. Seems fine to me....good in fact...love the auto setting.

Bought the wiper insert from Lexus, I think mine cost $9 a piece, pretty easy to installed.

Learned this the hard way on my acura RL. For the LS stay with stock OEM for wiper arms and insert blades.

Nothing and I mean absolutely nothing you buy will work better and 90% will work not as well. Especially if you change wiper arms you are likely to get a bad result. The angle and tension of OEM wiper arm is a very precise design and fits the windshield perfectly. Any non-OEM wiper arm is not going to fit as well.
