Newbie just got my first LS430 2002
Hello,
Just got my first Lexus LS430 2002 - 90K with Nav and other options. I'm really excited. Just coming over from owning a 1997 BMW 740IL. That car lasted me 217K till sold no engine or tranny problems. Got the car for about 15K. In NY.Any common problems things I should look for. Car drives, interior is fantastic. I'm very happy. Pick up on Saturday.

Dealer wasn't to sure on Timing Belt. That looks like the first thing I'm going to have to do. I have a 2 guys that work for Lexus. Hopefully I can work out a deal with them to get it done. I was contemplating getting a warranty from Warranty Direct. Full Warranty for 2 yr-25k is 2500 and if you hit 100K a 5yr-100K Power train only warranty is 1500. I have used them before with my wife infiniti and they are good. Which one would you go

Here are some Pics. I Love this car. I'm on wax mode this weekend. I'm wondering if I should tint or not. Looks like it had tint once upon a time since the rear small window is tinted. I'm on the fence.

Looks great. I have no idea why people buy new cars when an 02 looks like this.
I'm about to tint also. First I was leaning to 70% just to knock the heat down, then 50% and now I'm drifting toward 35%. Tint looks good with black exterior. I may do both of my LS's.

I just completed Timing Belt, Water pump, Drive belt, Tranny fluid change, Cabin Filter, and Tune up. All the work was done by Lexus Certified Technician all for $1000. Did I pay to much? The guy works at local Lexus dealership. Also got the car tinted for $200.. 20%.. I'm loving this car..

What brought you to buy a LS430 especially since you had good luck with the BMW?
