Dumb question, but after you changed the batter and alt. it still won't start after a few days? Does it crank over, or just clicks? Perhaps a bad starter could be at fault.

Or, better yet, just drive it every day so you don't go the "2-days" for it to die.

Default Same Problem

Hello:

I am having the same problem but my '05 is still under the extended warranty so it is back at the dealership. I normally drive the car daily so don't have problems. It happened twice before and I had the battery replaced the second time. I left if for three days the day after having the 60k service done and tried to crank and the battery was totally drained. Their suspicion is that there might be a short somewhere in the system.

yes, usually there is a device causing a leak/drain within the system. I hope this is sorted for you, as sometimes it can be a nightmare diagnosing these types of problems.

disconnect the negative battery terminal and put your test light on the cable end and the negative post of the battery. if ther is a draw on the battery with key off it will light up. if it is lite start taking out one fuse at a time until the light goes out (be sure to put the fuse back after checking circuit). once you have found the one that makes the light go out you must find what is on the circuit that has the open draw.
