If you bring it back to the dealer, it will be all too true. I believe the 60K maintenance is petty much the same across the board at dealerships. They will want to change:

Engine oil/filter
Air filters
Bleed brakes
Timing belt

and some other minor things. Expect to get hit about $2K.

yeah call lexus and give them the vin, other wise if it was done somewhere else unless you know where or find receipts there isn't a whole lot you can do to find out.

Default Standard vs. Request

I would not go with the "standard" 60K maintenance recommended by the dealers. It includes the things that I had noted bofore, like timing belt and brake bleeding. 60K is too early for a belt that is rated for well into 100K.

At 60K, I would say if never done, transmission drain and fill, oil filter and fluid, and air filters.

The brake bleeding and timing belt I would waive until 100K.

ha ha... if anyone does the full 60K maintenance, they just might need someone to co-sign the loan.

I'm guessing that if a dealership can get 10 people to do the 60K maintenance, that their overheap would be covered for the month... then every other maintenance is just gravy towards the bottom line.

Default 100K Belts

The Toyota/Lexus timing belts are rated for 100K, and there are plenty of daredevils who have gone far beyond that without issue. Also, I have never read of any premature failures prior to 100K, so changing at 60K is definitely overkill. If you fell you need to change at 60K to be safe, then why not change every 40K to be really safe.

I just don't feel you need to spend the extra $600 for timing belts at 60K, which means 3 changes to 200K, rather than 2 changes. Just my 2c worth. I'm not an anti-maintenance person, I change my oil every 3K and use synthetic and fill with premium fuel.

My dealer says they change timming belts on 04-06 LS430, when the 90K service rolls around. And let me tell you it ani't cheap either, the service rep says a lot of owners break up the 90K service. It is priced out at $1,400 with tax included, my service tech will be doing my 90K for $500 on the side when the time comes. He gets discounts on all the parts water pump, belt, oil filter, oil etc and he will do at the shop. I just got my last oil change done thru the dealer, next up will be the big one again not by the stealership.
