Cold Weather = More Power?
Well, Seattle is currently getting a cold spell, around 25 degrees or cooler everyday at least for a week. What I'm finding out is that our LS430 is performing extremely well in these low temperature and I'm actually getting great gas mileage too. Could this be due to the cold air acting like CAI (cold air intake)? or the brand new K&N filter I just installed?

Yes you are correct, every 10 degrees of temperature drop = 1% increase in horsepower.
So with every 10 degrees decrease of temperature, our 300 hp engine gain 3 hp.
It is a much bigger gain in turbo cars because the intercooler is freezing.

I thought it was just me!! I noticed it too. Only thing is mine is getting bout the same in gas mileage. Didnt notice a difference in that yet.
I thought the extra boost was just the cars way of sayin "hurry the hell up and get where your goin so i can chill!!"
