Default Why Does My SC300 Run Smoother in Cold Weather & Better Gas Mileage?

This weekend it was in the 30's and 40's in the part of FL where I was and my car ran incredible. I know cold air is more dense and that's why my car is faster in the cold air making more hp. BUT the car also ran a lot smoother without any hickups, hesitation or bucking like it normally has until it warms up or when it's too warm.
I also went 75 more miles on a full tank of gas then I ever have in owning the car for 1 year.

Any ideas on what could be going on here? It's like my car is tuned rich and with the cold air it was tuned just right.

Do I maybe need to clean my maf sensor or something, grounds?

going to throw out the idea of the engine block getting heat soaked.. where as the whole engine is pretty hot, and with ambient temperatures in FL being quite high plus the humidity it makes it even hotter. with cooler ambient temps your engine is being cooled more efficiently. thinl of it as a convection oven, but instead of hot air its cold.

but thats really just a guess / idea for an explanation.

-ps that really doesnt explain the mileage difference.. but maybe the hiccup, hesitation issue.

Check you intake air temp data...(It might be incoporated into the MAF on our cars) If its off, it'll only get better with changing weather..

Borrow a scan tool with datastream capabilitys....or you can read it with a good volt/ohm meter if you know the correct ecu pinouts..

Cold air is more dense and therefore contains more oxygen. I bet you can figure out the rest.

and when i check it what's the point?
I cant change my air intake temps, make a cold air intake so my car can run smooth lol?

The car shouldnt run the way it does when its hot out in my opinion.
