Can the Laser Adaptive Cruise Control Be Disabled?

Same problem here. Works when radar is switched off before moving. Found small hole and crack in window. I went further and removed the unit, found the oart with the refelctive prism that rotates completely corroded. I wonder if there is a place refurbishing is done.. ? anyone?
