Question LS400 LS430 difference gas mileage?

How much more gas does the LS 430 Burn than a LS 400?

I would think the 6 speed tranny would make a big difference. What does the real world show?

i thought the LS430 saves more gas than the 400 model but correct me if i am wrong. well I am comparing it to my 91 LS400

Cool Gas mileage

Yeah but the LS 430 has more horsepower than the 400 so I thought it burns more gas!

02 LS430 my average is 21 mpg a mix of 60% city and 40% highway driving

I've owned both cars and LS430 definitely seems better in gas compared to the 400

yeah i have both models too and the 430 saves way more gas but thats comparing it to my 91LS

My 2001 LS430 with stock 16's gets about 21-22 mpg in 60 hwy/40 city driving. At 32 lb psi I was getting about 19-20 with some outer tire wear. Now at 35psi I am getting 1-2mog higher with less resistance and more car roll when not pressng the gas on downhill. I drive very mild to maximize my miles.

Horsepower is good (up to a certain point). Greater horsepower means that the tranny doesn't have to spend as much time in the lower gears to get the job done.

My '02 LS430 gets approx. 21 in town and 28 on the highway.
