I "bought" an '05 CPO LS430 CL last tuesday night from a Lexus dealer out east. I say "bought"...cause I still don't have it and don't know when i'll get it. They just called yesterday to setup delivery and don't know when the truck will pick it up or when it will be delivered to me. I don't NEED the car, but would like to get it asap. Considering I'm going on day 10 of my purchase experience...seems a bit long to me. Any other experiences out there and how long did it take you to get your car. I did finance through Toyota and they are shipping to midwest(for reference)

I suggest picking up a car instead of waiting on shipping! You never know the reason behind the wait of course. A one way flight to the east coast dealer and drive back can take a weekend at best and by Monday your driving your new ride to work! I say call them again today and ask them for the reason its taking so long and tell them you want to know the truth as to why its taking so long.
The time your waiting is rather long. Feel bad for you its taking so long. The thing about living here in the east I like is I can drive to the dealerships within 1-6 hours if I find a car I like and be home the same day. Its very competitive hear on the east coast. I like Florida and Georgia and The Carolinas and the D.C metro area for best prices and deals. I hear Alabama isnt bad either for deals.
Im sure you'll get your car but, I would demand in a nice but firm way to know when my car I paid for has arrived. Your missing days you should be driving it and if you financed your paying for days its not in your possesion yet!

Early this year, I bought my LS430 on Ebay from a "wholesale" dealer in PA. I got quotes on shipping from there to California that ranged from $500 to $1500. and none would guarantee a schedule, only estimates ranging from about 10 days to when ever they could get a truck load. So I bought an airline ticket for $178. and flew back and drove it to California. The hard part was the bad weather back east, used the navigation to get to the turnpike and had no idea where I was or going and could only see a short distance ahead in the snow. Gas and motels cost me about 800 bucks, so the cost came to about the same as shipping. As it was cold all the way, I didn't do any sight seeing and put 3K miles on the car. I probably would not do this again, but who knows maybe driving from a place like Florida would be nicer in the spring.

Reason: Mistake, the car I bought on the internet was the SC430.
after all that...it got on a truck friday night and was in my driveway Sunday at noon. Couldn't be happier...
Glad you got your car. Good ending to this post and im happy it came before Monday and the start of the work week. Hope you enjoyed your drive into work and many more are to come.
