Default Opinion Please 2005 LS430

Hey guys, need some advice and help here.

Currently a Gs owner and looking for a new project car. I'm deciding between getting a LS430 in Ultra, Custom, or Mordern Luxary. Yes, the Ultra comes with all the bells and whistles, but for $10,000 dollars more is a very big chunk of money. I never use cruise control, and I'm not worried about laminated glass and doors closing on its own, cooler, rear massager. Custom Vs. Modern, only difference I see is
- Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Pre-Collision System (PCS)
- Laminated side glass
- Headlamp washers
- Power door closers

Ultra are going for anywhere from $35 - $45,000. Custom are going for $30-$35,000. Modern as low as 20-$28,000.

I'm not concern with the stock wheels and etc, first mods would be wheels, lip kit and suspension as soon as I purchase the car.

I like the Ultra, but for the price, the air suspension is limited to how low I can dump it and the adjustment speed is slow, I'm going more towards the ViP style stance. But with the Modern I can go ahead and do a hybrid coilover set up (Tein Cs w/UAS) or even the Roberuta coilover.

I debating on what to do. sounds like I would be saving more money by just customizing a Modern Luxury and to get the LS to where I want it later down the road. What do you guys think, your 2 cents please. I'm looking to spend $40,000 that includes, Car, wheels, wald kit, suspension. With the Modern, I can make that happen as soon as I purchase it.

the difference between stock air + air controller ad coil + uas is around 700 compared to 4-5k, that's pretty big difference there already. about the height, i thought at L with the adjusted level arm that could get pretty low. but of course, the lowering time is a problem for some. not for me though

personally i would at least get custom. modern is too basic imho (lack of laminated glass is big minus). after all it's still a car i would drive. but if it's just a show car, then it doesn't really matter much to you

Thanx Rominl, Yeah I might go with Custom Luxary and do the Tien CS plus UAS. The Bold World Coilovers is so hard to get and eta is unknown. With the tien and uas I can jump on that set up right away.

With the "L" all the way to the floor, takes too long to go down and than come back up. Plus its a full air bag set up, instead of coilover and bags.

My other concern is finding someone to install the UAS, I have zero experience with AIR. And debating on Wald or Aimgain kit. Wheels I'm will never come to a decision anytime soon, I would like something Vip JDM.

yup, install would be a "problem". you can always go to a shop, that's like 1000 bucks for install though

Well working backward on your budget from $40k, $2k for the kit, $2k for the suspension, $2 to 3k for wheels, that would leave you with $33-34k worth of car. That will also depend on you installing all of it yourself or shop. That would definitely cut into your budge. Depending on mileage, you may be able to squeeze a UL in, and pretty sure you can get a CL.

$700.00 for the data controller (UL), and hybrid set up is going to be about $1500 for Tein CS and UAS $2300.00 (Custom Luxaury Bag set up) $4000 plus say another $1000 for install, still on the pricey side also.

I manage an full auto repair shop, body work and mechanical, I get everything at cost price. If I can find a Custom Lux for low $30's would be nice. Wheels I'm willing to do $5000 with tires and suspension would be around $5000. so it'll be alittle bit over $40,000.
