Default 22inch rims????

I have an 2001 LS430. I want to put some 22's on it but Im concerned with the wheel well rubbing against the tires. I know 20's will fit with no problem, because I had some on my 1992 LS400. So will 22's work on the LS430? Will I have 2 get a super thin tire, like a 30 series?

Based on most of the material i have read about putting rims on an 01 to 06 LS 22's could not be put on without major modification. Even some 20's require cutting of the wheel wells.

Well i would'nt reccomend it but hell it's not my ride....anything is possible what it will take to get it to work i have no clue....but where there's a will there's a way...do you.

P.S check in the dubstyle subforum maybe they can point you in the right direction.

A local mom and pop car store was selling a 03 LS430 with 22"s. The car was sitting way high. Could not lower it due to clearance problems. Did not look right. Visually, it looks like 20"s. Like Bonafyd said above, the ride would be horrible as you'll be on rubber bands for tires and could easily bend/crack the rims.

Is it possible? I would say yes but as already stated you'd be on a very low tire. I run 20"x8.5"+35 and am on 245/35. I don't run staggered/wide so I can rotate the tires as it is DD. Ride is acceptable but definitely not plush anymore. Can't imagine how harsh it would be in 22's on DD or even weekend driver.

It's possible, I am currently dumped on 20" with a body kit, barely tucking alittle, and I tried putting a set of 22" EXE Konvex next to my car, I actually don't think it will look that bad, but again, clearance might be an issue, but my fenders are already shaved with a slight pull and I think I have enough camber to pull it off, so I think some 22 on some 25 series tires will look pretty interesting on my car... Gonna try running that proposal through my wife and see if will pass...lol

My brother has an LS430 ultra and he is running 22's and I can honestly say it doesnt look bad at all and the ride isnt that much of a difference than me running 20's on my GS...as far as cutting goes, he did minor mods, none being to the fenders all dealing with the front fender liner but there was mild rubbing on the back that required a little bit of rolling down near the rear rocker panel on the side that sits the lowest, but it actually looks good on the car. I actually like it. I will try and get some pics up sometime tonight to let you guys see for yourself. He is running 9.5" all the way around and he runs the suspension in normal so the car is sitting pretty good on the 22's and the tires are stretched and I mean stretched...it defintely turns heads when driving it.

Thanks alot. Yeah if u can post some pics, that would be great. Im ordering out of the lowriders magazine & every rim & tire place that I called stated that I could run 22's with no problem.

i think 21's would be perfect on the LS...the 22's dont look bad on the car but I dont think that I would have gone that route...my other frined just put 22's on his G35 coupe. I asked them what has gotten into them becaue they are trying to get me to go 22's on my GS. I would never put 22's on my GS..i will leave the 22's for when I get a 6 or 7 series
