Tranny software update?

Here's the deal i recently picked up my 04 430..i came back from the SUV stint, i was reading on the forum about a trabby update and i need to know if it's for all 430's or a select # of cars? the reason i ask is i went to the dealer and had a belt changed and as i was leaveing i remembered the update and when i asked about it he said there was no update then he said it whent by the VIN#. i don't know if he was being honest or not so i want to know if it truly does go by the VIN or not so i can get it done if it's not a VIN issue.

They were replacing the entire transmissions on the '04. Select VIN's only.

Could be you read about the software "update" that addresses the issue of the controller selecting too low a gear when re-accelerating from a near stop.
Result is a neck snapping lurch when you reapply the gas.

I had this done; the dealer put a sticker referencing TSB # TC006-04.

And it worked well; the neck snapping is a distant memory.
