Red face Power window mystery

Hey all,

I have an 2002 LS430, and just replaced both front door actuators with the DIY posted on here, great write up, could have eliminated some steps. Anyways, I think I might have screwed something up, because now when I pull up on the passenger side window switch (auto up) the window goes all the way up and then goes down half way and stops. If I hold the up switch it will go up to the top and stay, it is just the auto up that is wacky. Any ideas?

Thanks

You can try doing one of a coupe of things (NOT sure if it'll work).

1. Try recalibrating the auto windows by rolling the window all the way up (hold up on the switch but not fully up in the "auto" position), then once it's up press down on the switch and hold it until fully open (again do NOT press all the way down in the "auto" mode). Perform this a few times and see what happens.

If the above doesn't work, you may need to perform the following:

2. Remove the power window motor from your car, once removed plug the motor (motor only) back in and also plug in your power window switch. With the key in the "on" position, pull up on the switch (in the "auto" position) and let the motor spin for about 6-7 seconds, then press the switch down to stop the "auto" mode and motor from spinning. Once that is done, reinstall everything.

Not sure if this'll help but Toyota Avalons have this same feature and if the motor has been replace, this operation must be perform to reset the motor.

LMK if this works...otherwise I have the 2004 LS430 service manuals and electrical wire diagram. I can look it up if it doesn't work.

Basically I'm going off the Toyota procedures for this type of concern.
