Default busted Smart entery/start, HELP

ok maybe its not a big deal...but i am not able to open the doors with the sensor under the handle and also have to put the key in the slot to start the car. i know i sound spoiled, but i would like for it to work. it was nice not having to reach in my pocket and press unlock and also nice to start the car without the key inserted. does anyone know how i can fix this?

thanks

Check the battery in your Key fob. They go out after about 2 years. Lexus is very expensive for them.
