Default Subwoofer question

I have a 2004 with ML sound. With the bass turned all the way up I don't get much "thump"...I know it's not a Ghetto cruiser but I thought it should do a bit more than this. Is this common? the sound is good no crackles or buzzing or anything like that...just not much bass.
What do you guy's think?

I know this may sound crazy, but check and make sure you actually have a subwoofer. I had very little bass in my ML only to find out months after I bought it that the subwoofer had been removed (stolen).

When I took it to the Lexus dealer to find out what happened, they said that a lot of smaller dealers buy cars at auction and remove parts and accessories (transponders, manuals, shift *****, floor & trunk mats, tool & first aid kits, and yes, speakers) and sell them for extra profit (usually on eBay).

BTW, I bought my LS from Mason Graham at Performance Autos of Southwest Florida in Ft. Myers. He sells cars on eBay as well. His user ID is performanceautosofswfla. I also had the car inspected by LexTech in Naples, FL before I bought it. I would not recommend either one of them for obvious reasons.
