licence pplate frame
we just got a 02 ls430 and the guy we got it from kept the car real clean. So clean that he had no plate up front, being in NY I need suggestions on how to mount a plate. Should I go to the dealer or try to put on L-brackets or drill holes, help me out, thanks

It's best to use the dealer / Lexus provided bracket. It's a clean way to get the plate attached. If I had my choice, I'd tape (double sided) the bracket if possible only so I could remove it when I want. My bracket was just drilled into the bumper. It shouldn't be too hard, maybe just look at the bracket first and then decide how best to mount the bracket to the bumper.
When I got my LS430 it came with no front license plate frame also. In some states no license plate are required by law to have them installed in front is why yours did not come with the front plate. I got the license plate frame bracket from my Lexus dealer and you can actually order it in the color code of your car so it matches. There are 2 sets of hole indentions on your front bumper to make 2 small holes which you can attach the license plate frame. It's real easy to do. Just use a small drill bit when drilling the 2 holes. You can line up the frame to see which height you prefer. I chose the hole that make the license plate frame flush with the top of the front bumper. The License Plate frame kit also comes with mounting screws, so you can screw it into your bumper after drilling the pilot holes. I would not use 2 way tape to hold on you front license plate frame as it will be easy to fall off if you go through a car wash or during a hot day it may sag. It's up to you though.
