Hey GUys... i've got my Ls430 for sometime now.. and was wondering does anyone know where i can get a good ipod interface.. i know that vaistech is good but i cant find anyone that has it in the Los Angeles area... Could someone help me or know someone that has it so i can purchace one... Thanks.....

 

Coastal Tech, the maker of the Lockpick has a great looking one but they seem to be always out of stock. http://www.coastaletech.com/ULTIMATE%20IPOD.htm Their interface looks better in my opinion than the Vaistech's version.

 

Given that this the Ultimate Ipod interface kit (from the makers of Lockpick) is unavailable, does anyone else have any recommendations for an installed Ipod interface / control unit so that you can use the Lexus touch screen to navigate a music collection and play? I've got an 04 LS 430.

Any idea how Vaistech works with an iPhone?

 

I just emailed with the rep. The SL2i works with the iphone. My only question is do I need the Ultimate Lockpick or just the Blue Lockpick to operate the Ipod while moving? Anyone know? It's not apparent from the Lockpick website.

 

Any screen shot of what the interface looks like on the Nav screen?

 

I personally installed the Vaistech, and couldn't be happier. I think it's a good, stable product. It is true the interface is just that of the MD Changer, but functionality is perfect. Also, the "Ultimate iPod" comes across to me sort of as vaporware; it hasn't been in stock for about a year now. Even when I wrote to the Lockpick people, they didn't have a date for when it would be available again. Personally, I think it's probably a legal/licensing issue with Apple that they are sorting through.

 

have the Vais SL2 ipod kit, works fast, good sound on quality MP3's. It is simple and cheap.

 

Does anyone have anything installed on the pre-'04 LS430? I've got an '02 and was wondering how it all worked. I just want to have control of the music through the nav screen/steering wheel buttons. I think I'd actually buy an iPod just for that feature.

 

Any picture of it? I'm tempted on installing one, even though I rarely listen to iPod.

Also will it turn the iPod on/off when you turn the car on/off?
