I hear you and 95% of the time I would agree. My point being, by buying from a private party, you *can* (depending on state) save on sales tax and by foregoing cpo, you can save on the premium charged by dealers for the certified process. Assuming the used car is still under factory warranty, you can wait until just before the warranty expires to purchase the extended warranty from Lexus.

Whether one chooses to buy extended warranty or not is certainly a personal choice, but if I had a LS430 UL w/PCS, one blown air shock, pixel in the Nav screen, blown ML amp, blown rear AC transistor (you get the idea) will pay for the extended warranty. If I had a plain vanilla LS430 (no Nav, ML, PCS, etc) I would pass on the ext warranty . . .

I have 2006 E350 AMG sport package (Blk/Blk) and 04 LS430 UL (Pearl/Saddle)... The MB looks more "PIMP" because of the shape, and handles much better. LS430 is more LUXURIOUS! Can't go wrong with either car (unless you are getting a plain E500 with no AMG package) then this car sucks (appearance wise)!

My last car was the W211 E55 with everything but pano roof, I had absolutely no problems with that car at all. It was a great car, comfortable, fast and I feel very confident at high speed in that car. I currently have a 02 LS430, even though the one I got doesn't have the UL package, but I really enjoy driving this car, yes the E55 was modded, and yes I will also mod the LS430, I admit I miss driving the E55, but not as much as I enjoy driving the LS430, and by all means I am not saying the E55 is a lesser car than the LS430, it was a blast while owning the car. I am sure E500 is a nice car, but if you are choosing between the E500 and a LS430, unless it's E55 or LS430, otherwise LS430 all the way (sorry if I am not making any sense, it's been a crazy week and a long day for me at work so far....hopefully y'all will get what I am trying to say)
