How many miles do YOU have on your LS430? (The Mother thread)

coming up on the big one two oh! I swear it's not the mileage that could spell the end of this car's service, but the fuel economy that's bugging me. My new commute where no more highway is having the mpg computer sucessively show 15.x between fill-ups. That's not making any sense to me when those rental cars all do 25-27 under the same conditions...dang for whatever reason I was ok with 19.x on my last commute (it's shortened by 13 miles and eliminated the highway portion altogether)

I know that everyone wants high mpg. But, have you thought about looking at the actual cost you spend with the newer route that doesn't include any highway milage? By shortening you route by 13 mile, your actual cost at $.50/mile is saving you $6.50. What is the cost of gas for the previous longer route with 26 mpg? You may be saving money by using the newer route even thought the mpg is 19. Just a thought and a better way to rationalize accepting the lower mpg if you actually save some money.
We have no choice since my wife's car is disabled right now, so we're taking the LS430 to a wedding in Brooklyn this weekend. That will raise the mpgs. Coincidentally I changed the plugs around the time my commute changed, so one can say after I changed the plugs the mileage has been terrible. but I know why and it's not the plugs....
p.s. when I say 26 mpg it's not the Lexus but the 2019 Altimas of the world that I rent for work, they will do that city, not highway, which really illustrates how much our cars consume....that car did 40 mpg highway, and it's full sized...the LS has lost 4 mpg so 19 mpg at 52 miles per day, or 15 mpg at 26 miles per day...

2003 ls430
It's 09/04/2019. I just bought a 2003 LS430.
It has 61,000 miles as of yesterday.
The left strut could use replacing and I'm having to replace the tires; the originals were still on the car when I bought it.
The mirror adjuster control doesn't work smoothly.

Just bought a base LS430 2001 with 297,000. It drives well and floats along. Does have a popping sound on front driver wheel when turning or striking a pothole, and only going downhill, otherwise it’s sound. Paid 2500 total. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.
