When our CD player jammed (9 years ago?), I remember seeing a service offered on eBay that purported to fix the problem. Ours was a non Mark Levinson and the unit comes out in one piece as part of the radio. I removed the unit and decided to look at it myself first. I don't remember exactly anymore, but something was jammed and when I was able to extract the CD that was stuck, I put it back together and it has worked fine ever since. Our left power mirror and Steering controls also quit. I never got them fixed. Most likely the motors. Too expensive to justify the repair. The gas shocks on the trunk are not, repeat NOT supposed to lift the lid. I know it sounds stupid. They are just there to keep the lid open after you manually lift it. We do have a few other issues, but I'd like to see this car hit the 300k milestone and I don't see anything major keeping that from happening. Our son is currently driving it while we upgraded to an '09 LS460 AWD. Welcome to the forum. You can look forward to many years and miles of "relatively" trouble-free driving.
@reozon - Thanks for the useful information!

12.07.18 254,000 – Gave it to my sister

So, I said I would be back in another 10K or come back to tell you I found my 460.Well, found my 460. Picked up a 2015 LS with just over 20,000 miles for just under half price of new.I have been looking for a year and finally found one that was priced right and what I was looking for.I took the 430 on its last road trip from Rochester NY to Kansas City last week to give it to my sister. It hit her driveway with almost 254,000 miles. It was a great drive, I think it will go for another 100K at least. We will see how they take care of it.The Body was getting a rough for my taste. Front end looked like it had 254K on it from Colorado highway pitting, has the rust through on the passenger door around the molding, still a solid car. The 01 still has all original suspension except lower control arm bushings. I will say this the is no comparison to the 01 and the 15’s ride…But I was sad to leave the 01 in KC, and I think she was sad to see me go.The last time I drove it, the small marker light in the head light burned out and the tail lamp warning light came on. Her way of saying bye…

I'm in the ballpark, 111k. Hard to believe I put 30k on her, and got her with 81k. That's significant, well more that 1/4, I've driven 27% of all its miles in 26 mos.

Gonna need plugs soon...

Default Update 12.17.18

Purchased my 2003 base in 2014 with 119,000. Timing belt had just been done, everything was perfect. I had the timing belt replaced at 225,000, been through brakes, and a couple of sets of tires. Sadly, the Wisconsin winters have not been kind. Rust growing on driver’s side rear wheel well, and passenger rear door. Interior is still great. All power options are in working order.

I need to replace knock sensors, a new radiator is in the near future and I’ll need new tires before winter. My goal is 300,000 but the body will be rough by then. I’ve been searching for a reasonable replacement, although RWD is not optimal in the snow. LS430 is just an incredible machine.
UPDATE: I’m now just 500 miles away from 250,000. New goal is 400,000 not 300,000. Finally replaced the knock sensors and she’s running perfectly. My new Firestone tires are great. My tip of the day: don’t use regular gas. I switched from premium and it brought on the knock sensor issues. Only 93 octane for my sweet girl now (and yes, I’ve read the thread discussing gasoline and octane). Also, I’ve found a highly recommended body shop to work on the rust issues.

Nice. The ONLY thing I don't like about the facelifted models is that they got rid of the red needles which looks sharper.

I bought an MP3 device for $12 that plugs into the lighter and uses un-used FM radio frequency 99.1 MHz (Chicago) The sound is quite adequate although the Mark Levinson system is and was sub-grade sounding compared to higher end systems anyway. If I had known at the time I would have purchased a used LS430 with the stock sound system and no GPS and I would be able to put any player I wanted into it.
It amazes me that the person who bought my 1996 Acura RL says the 6 CD player still works perfectly.
