2001-2003 LS430, any differences between them?

So I'm gonna be in the market for an LS430 as soon as my E55 AMG showcar sells (ad is in the classifieds). I originally wanted a 2004+ to get the 6spd and update but financially, I'd rather go w/ the 2001-2003 verse. My question is, is there anything I should be weary of with those years? Are the 01's prone to problems being the first year out, are the 03's better or that much better?

Also I'm looking for a white one with black interior or black on black. How rare are either ones to find? Most I saw on ebay have the tan interior which I cannot stand!

I'm looking to spend mid 20's on this car and get no more than 60k miles on the clock, so a 2001-2002 is in my cards.
