Default need a little help......

hey guys,

i am in love with the LS430.... but getting nervous that they are going to be replaced with LS460.... would love to buy a new one but would make budget too tight... so been looking at used ones... there are good ones out there... but if i think about used i don't even need to jump now... what do u think between new one modern package or a used one... any opinions would help.. never had lexus .. so would love input on people who have owned lexus... if buy used, no more than 50K miles....

thanx guys...

np...

dont really understand why you would be nervous.

the new LS460 is already out.
the leftover LS430 is available for a bargain, just depends how well you can nego for a good deal.

If you want to save some money and OWN the car for a longer period, and not worry too much about having the latest and greatest, go for the LS430. Find a 2006 model in that has the options you like. That way, depreciation in the long run wont be as bad.

If you want to lease and pay more to have the latest and greatest, get the LS460.

And if you want to buy used, well, thats a completely different scenario, based on your budget.

Did I answer your question ?

yeah i agree, no need to worry about the new one. if it's out of your price range, then there is nothing to worry about anymore, right?

if price is within your budget, deifnitely look at new 06 ls430 leftover, they are at bargains for sure

Ditto on what's already been stated. I purchased my new 06 last March. It has Mod/Lux pkg, SmartAccess, All-wx floor mats & cargo net for $1k over mfgr invoice. Intend to keep it for long time. After looking at the new 07 LS, I have no remorse. Personally, I like the 06 better. Bottom-line: if you want an 06, buy it new. Find the one you want, and cut your best deal. Personal me and I'll provide you the name of my salesperson (in TX). -- JayB

I don't think I could bring myself to buy a new '06 instead of buying an '04 or '05. It's EASY to find these cars in pristine condition with low miles and perfect service records. You could probably find whatever you want (possible exception of the UL model) in an '04 for close to $30K (if not less) in the next couple months. I just can't see taking the hit for the difference just in order to have the same car with a couple years newer number on the title. Once you drive the new '06 off the lot you're in a used car, whether you put the first miles on it or not. I could think of a lot of worthwhile things to do with that other $20K+.

I have the LS430 and have extensively driven the LS460 at my local dealership. One of the decisions I made when I bought this car was to make sure I would be happy with it, even though the current one would be the latest and the greatest, it would be hard to allocate one for me, plus I didn't feel like waiting. There's a lot of things that can be done in between the price of a 430 and 460, that's a lot of margin, I would get a 430, and keep it, like I'm doing right now.
