Default Repair Problem---Heated/Cool Seats

I have an '05 LS 430 with Heated and Cooled seats. I had the misfortune of causing a small triangular tear in the seat (less than 1/2 inch ) with a sharp object I had in my back pocket.

I have explored repair options, and believe it or not there are not many choices that will not be very expensive. The Dealer told me that a normal leather repair procedure would not work. It would have to cover a much larger area and there would be no way to keep it from being noticeable on this kind of seat,

They recommended replacing the entire section, however, they have been unable to find a preforated leather suitable for heat/cool seats. All the material they found has very small pin like holes and will not provide the air flow necessary for cooling. They can install a new leather seat bottom from Lexus for $1965 pus 185 labor.

Has anyone had any experience with this kind of problem and had any success a getting repaired.for a reasonable price. Any information or suggestions will be greately appreciated.

Thanks

Your best bet is to put out a search at salvage yards that buy wrecked cars. They could sell you the whole seat for way less than that price.

Good luck-
