2001 LS430 remote start/Alarm
Hi all,
I am a new happy (very happy) owner of a 2001 LS430, I sold off my 96 LS and picked up my new ride last week.
The car came with a 3rd party remote start / Alarm. When I use the remote start feature on it, the lights blink (the parking lights) on the car. They seem to blink 5 times in a row, then start over. I was just wondering if anyone has installed one before and seen this. There are minor other issues with it but, it all works.
Anyone seen anything like this before ?

If it's blinking five times it's telling you there is a problem with a "zone" and that zone may be the
hood.On certain remote starters if it doesn't recognize the hood as being down/closed it wont start the car for safety reasons.
Do you know who manufactures it?

After talking to the dealer, he said there is 2 settings on the alarm/remote start, one to make them blink or one to just put them on and not blink. I'll stop by there in a week or 2 to look over options and have that setting adjusted.
Off topic, when I slow down the car, the ML system lowers the volume, is there any way to stop that ?

I misread your first post.
I thought you meant that the parking lights flash five times and starts over but the car fails to start.
So the car starts with the parking lights flashing five times and repeats that theme and you would rather have the lights come on steady. Yes, they're right since it's a program setting. They'll fix it by simply reprogramming it with a few sequence clicks on your remote control, shouldn't take them more than five minutes to do.
