2001 LS430 remote start/Alarm

Hi all,

I am a new happy (very happy) owner of a 2001 LS430, I sold off my 96 LS and picked up my new ride last week.

The car came with a 3rd party remote start / Alarm. When I use the remote start feature on it, the lights blink (the parking lights) on the car. They seem to blink 5 times in a row, then start over. I was just wondering if anyone has installed one before and seen this. There are minor other issues with it but, it all works.

Anyone seen anything like this before ?

I found on the back of one of the remotes, that it had an 800 number, so I called it, all they gave me was dealer locations. So, I called one, and got some detail..

After talking to the dealer, he said there is 2 settings on the alarm/remote start, one to make them blink or one to just put them on and not blink. I'll stop by there in a week or 2 to look over options and have that setting adjusted.

Off topic, when I slow down the car, the ML system lowers the volume, is there any way to stop that ?

D'oh, click the little icon on the screen of the nav, and it does not do it any more. Hmmm, should played more before posting, sorry about that but, Thanks for your help !
