Has anyone here with a 01, 02 or 03 ordered the LS430 tail lights off Ebay? For $200, they seem to be a good upgrade but was curious if anyone here has purchased a set and can comment on fitament and color match.

There seem to be quite a few of these lights for sale......

look for JAWs' car. the outside one fits but need to rework on the wiring. the inside doesn't fit

 

I bought new ones over the summer for $400. The inner red lense and white strip don't match up completely but it's not way off. The clear lense don' t line up.Its about a 1/4 inch off, but looks fine. The wiring harness off the old one need to be cut and spliced onto the new light. Just do a search, I did a complete write up. I haven't had any problems for over 5 months. Overall I am happy with the mod and may to a complete rear end change over by swapping the trunk lid. I'm not sure if the trunk is the same shape, mainly the bottom part that has a curve to it.

Where these new Lexus lights or where they purchased from a vendor on Ebay? The Ebay one's are going for $195 for the pair.

After reading through the Ebay listings, I am somewhat concerned that they will not except returns on the lights......

 

I bought them from lexus parts.com since the taillights were rare and hardly ever on Ebay at the time. They would allow me to return them

 

Whoa, hold on a second!!! I looked on Ebay and those aren't the lights I bought. From the looks of the back of the lights it looks like you don't have to deal with rewiring them. The factory harness will do and the bulbs will just insert into the holes.

Will some brave soul out there buy them and give us a verdict on them?

I have no problem buying them and giving them a shot. The only holdup is trying to get those folks to email me back to verify they have sold these to other LS430 owners. Once I get that confirmation, I'll be all over them......If I don't hear back in the next day or so, I might just roll the dice and do the deal.

I have no problem spending the money, just if someone else could email the seller and ask the question about prior sales to LS430 owners, my wife would appreciate it

 

I bought the JDM versions for the 01-03, they are the REAL ones and not the cheap Ebay ones for $200. The JDM's cost about $4xx shipped from Japan, I'll post pics after I'm done installing my A/R controller.

 

Do the JDM lights require a rewire?

Most importantly, does the clear strip on the JDM lights line up with the trunk lights??

 

As a brief update, I just ordered a set of the tail lights off of Ebay and I'll report on the fitament, etc. after the holidays.

Well, my daugther had a doctor appointment and when I arrived back home I noticed a nice sized box on my front porch My lights had arrived!!!!

Install took about one hour and 2 beers. They look great and they even come with two orange bulbs to go behind the new clear center strip. I am super happy with the fitament and how clean the upgrade looks.

Now, if someone would be kind enough to provide me with an email address, I'll shoot the photos over so they can be posted. I am not tech savvy and can't get them small enough to post.
