Air suspension vs. not

You will get a softer ride, it's up to you to test drive both and get a feel for one vs the other.
Maintenance costs in the long run (+8 years) seem to be slightly higher with the air suspension since the air shocks eventually break down. Dealer cost is high, Carson Toyota may have them cheaper and some people have disassembled and patched them.
I can say the above for the first generation LS, maybe the design has changed significantly since then.

the air suspension is definitely softer, but i don't think it's the kind of "soft" you talked about, it's not bouncy
personally i would rather have the old school springs and shocks

Keep in mind that with the air suspension you can stiffen it up with the press of a switch so you can have it both ways. If I'm driving by myself I usually keep it in SPORT mode and switch to NORMAL when I have others in the car.

The air suspention is great.. I dont understand having a luxury sedain without air.. unless its a 7 with a sports package.. I just dont understand why its only a part of the ultra luxury package and not a stand alone option.. its one of the only reasons i got a car with UL..
