Man, I got to tell ya....having just TOO many problems with my car...

Today, I turned the A/C on and since I have a few people with me, I activated the moving vent button (on the climate screen)...anywhos...

they move to one side and just stop...If I got back into the climate screen and un-select it and re-select, then it moves to one side and again...STOPS!

Anyone else have this problem?

Maybe it needs to be oiled/lubricated...

Question: were you and a front passenger sitting in the seat(s)? The vents alternate movement based on seat position sensors...

There are several settings that affect the movement of the center vents. The obvious one is the on/off switch, but also the on/off button for the "Dual" climate control mode and the absence of a passenger will also change the way the center vents move (or not).

Also, the vents don't move until the car cools down. My vents will position in 1 place for about a minute or two before the swaying begins. On really hot days it takes a while longer. As mentioned before, the seat sensor in the passenger seat also regulates the path of the swaying. If noone is sitting in the passenger seat, the vents will not sway over as far to that side of the car. Logical right!

Good luck. Probably user error.

Agree with DDlexus that this is normal behavior. The idea is to blast cool air directly at the driver and passenger (if there is one) before circulating the air as the car cools off. On a hot day this can take several minutes and when it does start the initial movement is quite subtle and gradually increases.

Hes 100% right. If its hot it takes a while before they start moving.

Could it be the 'neural net' chip and the intelligent A/C controls, responding to all the sensors in the cabin and affecting air flow?

Try turning the moving vents off, then reposition the vents to the central position manually, then re-activate the movable vents with the switch turned on. This worked for me.
