Default Another New Guy...From MB to Lexus

Well I finally made the plunge. Traded my 2001 Mercedes E-430 for a new LS-430 yesterday...Crystal White with Cashmere interior. I had the MB for 4 years but after driving the new 06's (E-350, E-350 ADI, and the E-500), I decided I had no interest in the new Mercedes. Then I drove the LS-430.....WOW! What a difference...everything that was optional on the Mercedes is standard on the Lexus. The Lexus is infinity more comfortable and has more features, and the drive is noticeably better. I won't bad mouth the MB because I enjoyed mine and it was a great car but it did have the usual problems and failures that are well documented on the MB Forums. I just think the Lexus is a much better car...by far. The crowning incentive to make the jump was the fact that the Lexus has been #1 in Dependability for the past 9 years (according to J.D. Powers), while the rating on the Mercedes has plummented. I am happy with my choice and hope to learn more about these cars on this Forum.....glad to be aboard.

Welcome, you made a great choice Nice color choice as well. My girlfriend has a '06 E350 and you are right, the LS430 is just in a different league.

My parents are actually picking up a new LS 430 tomorrow to replace their '97 S500 (silver w/ black interior). Really great deals to be had since the '07 model will bring the redesign.

Congrats and welcome to ClubLexus and the even more exclusive "LS Owners Club"!

There's a ton of features, customizable settings/habits, things to learn about the LS, nearly a year now and I'm still learning. If you want any advice, feel free to ask....I'm sure any of us will be glad to respond and share...

Once again, congrats!!! I have a similar experience here, went from the Mercedes S-class to the LS and have loved that decision ever since! Both cars were great btw, but the LS is just fantastic.

Congratulations! I too have owned some MBs. The Lexus/Toyota cars are miles ahead of MBs IMO. MB is living largely on myth (and big HP!) these days. From a quality standpoint, they are not the cars they were back in the day when they earned their reputation.

Welcome to CL. Once you have a taste of Lexus, you will be very happy.

Last week, just replaced now father in law's S500 right side catalytic converter (01 with only 24k miles). Thank goodness for the emission warranty which covered it, otherwise, mucho mucho $$$.
In addition to the reliability plummeting, don' t forget service also.

Welcome to CL. The LS430 is a beautifully engineered vehicle, but it seems like you already know that.

RJM, your car is junk dude, shoulda never gotten rid of the benz. MB's have sooo much more prestige and o man the quality just way surpasses that of any toyot..... um i mean lexus. LS will never compare to the S-class. Read fine print below

hehe, i'm joking caught your thread on mbworld, i'm over there to as i have an '01 e430. I think the LS is a real hot car especially with a bodfy kit and wheels., i'm getting rid of the problematic benz within the next month. Prestige, what a bunch of idioits, hahahaha
