Given that I am not very familiar on dealing with a salesperson, I'd like to know if there's still room for negotiation for a given internet price.

What "internet price" are you refferring to?

In any transaction in life- there is ALWAYS more room for negotiation. Just depends on how much of your time and the salesmans time you want to waste. What if the exact car you want is available right now? Waiting and trying to haggle for a few dollars could get it sold from underneath you.

Just remember that they don't lose money on them. You may think you got a large amount off only to find out your money rate is higher then it should be. If you go in with your own financing, they won't take as much off.

in another word, I just want to gauge how much others are paying for a Modern Luxury 05 LS 430.

They don't have the car with the specs I want.

thanks anyway.

I hear ya cluckin...

The price you have already mentioned is VERY reasonable and normal- you will not do much better, if any better at all. As a matter of fact, you could probably buy that car, drive it to California, and make a profit.

The reason people don't just come out and ask everybody on this site what they paid for their car is that it's kind of rude. So be careful.

If the dealer doesn't have the car you want, you will not get anywhere near as good a deal. They will always bargain harder on cars off the lot. You will need to find it yourself, or wait, or pay the piper.

Good luck-

Default New 2005 LS430

This advice may or may not help everyone, but here goes....

I just purchased a new 2005 Crystal White LS430 in April. Without going into great detail, I traded in my 2004 Black LS430....My learning experience was different with both vehicles... With the 2004, the new re-design had just happened and I bought mine in 10/03...No dealer was dealing like they do now that the design has remained the same for 2 years....

It will only require you to dedicate at least a week, but contact neighboring & out of town Lexus dealers to price a car Identical to what your looking for...

Explain to each separate salesperson you are a serious buyer from whatever city you're in...Let them know its worth it to you to get the best price, because if its worth it, it only costs a few hundred $$$$ to fly in to almost anywhere in the USA to pick it up.... Work the numbers to see if it is feasible for you to fly, pay gas, eat & return home in your new car....

I had 10 dealers from all over the US calling me about their cars in stock and what was coming in...Believe me, you won't need to rent a car to drive to the dealership, the salesperson will pick you up! or just ask!

You may even get a dealer to put you up in a hotel for the night before you drive back....Simply ask...It is not rude....

I, fortunately got my best deal from my local dealer because I was honest with him as well and he was not going to be undersold by an out of town dealer on a new LS...

Just remember to price out the same equipped car with every dealer...Keep it simple...

For me, I also included the All Season Floormats into my deal....

On almost any other non-luxury, non-high demand vehicle, you can go in with the Invoice cost and tell the dealer what you'll pay....It simply will not work too well with a new LS430, but I believe this system worked tremendously well for me....

Best of luck- You will love the new LS430...It is a fabulous machine.

Thanks for your input. I wasn't really clear on this statement though:

If you were to go into a Lexus Dealership with a 2005 LS Invoice and told the dealer you'll pay Invoice, most likely you won't make the deal....The LS is a very good seller...Still outselling BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo and Cadillac(STS)....(Which as a sidenote, simply don't understand the design of the new Cadillacs)...

I doubt Lexus will be offering the GM, Ford, Chrysler insentives of "Employee Pricing" w/rebates.

However-
In May, prior to these insentives coming out, I bought a new EddieBauer Explorer fully loaded and was able to purchase below Invoice and knew what the HoldBack was, allowing me to negotiate just above the Holdback level & way below Invoice...Not as good as Employee Pricing but still an excellent deal w/0% financing....

Negotiations have to conform to the situation at hand....Hope this explained it... Goodday! RC

The last time I checked, a brand new 05 LS430 cost €117,500 in Ireland. That's $141,000 US - so you think you've got problems...:-)

Thanks for the information, but what does it have to do with this Thread? Point being?

We are talking about the price of the LS430 here (unless I'm mistaken).

The LS430 is something like $60-70,000 in the US, am I right? My point is that while you guys might be debating about when/how to save a few thousand on a car, us poor sods over here would have to pay twice as much as you guys for the same car.

So count yourselves lucky, that's all I'm saying...:-)

Now its much more clear, I apologize I had no idea from your original message you were writing from Ireland. It appeared at first, your info of the cost of a Lexus LS430 in Ireland, came out of left-field.... I'm sorry for you the LS costs so much in your country...I've had a 1993 GS300, 2004 LS430 w/Sport Suspension and now a new 2005 LS430....These are truly dream machines...Smooth & Luxurious...

I sell real estate & commercial properties and can say I do ok, but even the multi-zillionaires I deal with, buy & sell their properties & cars for any price beneficial to them, meaning if they can make or save even a few hundred dollars, they will....

I even heard Donald Trump negotiated or tried to, on his new Maybach....

Have good day. RC

Maybe that's a part of why they are multi-zillionaires!
