I love Lexus. I adore Lexus...but I have to wonder. This LS430 has had so many issues, I don't even know where to start! Center vents replaced 3 times for annoying noises. Suspension problems galore. Brakes squeal in reverse (but not in drive??). Speakers get very "scratchy" every once in a while (almost like a surge to only the left-front). If I turn the car off and back on, the problem goes away. Overall my car was out of service for 1 month while they dealt with these issues. Jeesh. There's $947 in lease payments that I'll never get back!

And these are just a few of the issues. If my LS430 is this bad, I can only imagine what owning a BMW 7-series or MB S-Class must be like!!

Wow- I am very sorry to hear about those issues. That is really shocking. You are right- the BMW 7 and 5 series AND the MB S class, E class, CLK class AND SL class are all on the Forbes list of most unreliable luxury cars. Lexus doesn;t have a single vehicle on the entire list.

There MUST be something you can do, Lexus is world renowned for the customer support. You should very clearly document all of the issues, when they happened, and what the dealer did to try to fix them. Talk directly with Lexus about this. You should not be having that much trouble. Did you buy the car used?

Good luck to you my friend-

I had an SC 430 that likewise had a multitude of problems; to the point that I traded it in less than a year with 1,750 miles on it. I have an S class, a 2003 S55, and I have had I minor problem, a supercharger chirp that has been fixed. So to answer your question owning an S class is a dream in comparison to my SC nightmare.

On the other hand my wife drives a LS 430 that has had few problems the most annoying is the wind noise that the dealer has completely dis-avowed (they all do it!!!! is the answer).

The wind noise is caused by the car being so quiet. There is not more wind noise, it''s just that you can hear it more because the other noise is gone.

Sorry to hear about your lexus problems. Good luck witht he MB's you will need it, according to all long-term mass-market studies.

You sound like the dealer. The wind noise is annoying on this car. I have driven others and there is no noise.

I drive three Mercedes and all three are and have been trouble free. When you read the long term mass market studies they are reviewing cars that are approximately 3 years old. None of my drivers are that age and I think MB is starting to get their quality problems under control. In any event I can only go on what my experience has been.
