Default Refrig in LS430 Ultra

Hi again...
I took a long trip (6 hours) down to Pensacola this weekend and found out that the drinks I put into the cool box in my ultra really didn't stay cold. I made sure the rear A/C was on, and the vent inside of the box was open. I did have the a/c on 77 degrees as it was cool outside (50s). I assume the box uses the a/c temperature to cool or heat the items stored there.

Can anyone comment on there personal experience with this "feature"?

Thanks.

I no longer have an ultra lux, but I did until recently. I normally run the climate control at 71 degrees.

In my experience, a cold soda will stay cold in the cool box for at least 1 hour.
A room temperature soda, after a 1 hour trip, will be cool but not cold.

I don't take many long trips and my experience with the cool box was primarily limited to holding drinks during my routine commutes, so I can't comment on 6 hour trips. I would suspect that over 6 hours the soda should no longer be "cold" but it should be colder than room temperature. It is worth noting that the cool box is essentially a cooler with an air vent for the rear AC, so its not really a refrigriator.
