I have a 2004 LS 430 with laser active cruise control. I love the feature (one of my favorite toys), bt it gets blinded in low sun and inclimate conditions.

I know that supposedly Lexus was moving to the more reliable (like BNW and Mercedes) radar guided cruise, but the Lexus site still only shows the laser option.

Does anyone know if the radar guided is available. It may just make me move to the 2005 from the 2004.

I have a 2004 Ultra Lux with radar. I may have been available only with the UL package. There's a piece of plastic covering the grill Lexus emblem which I think indicates its radar.

According the Lexus site, radar cruise control comes with the pre-collision option, which is available only to Custom Luxury and Ultra Luxury packages.

Here in the western area, Radar Cruise was introduced mid-year in 2004 model with the Pre-Collision System. However, it is only available with the Ultra Luxury Package. Visually you can distinguish this car from the "plastic" looking L on the front grille, which doesn't interfere with the radar sensor.
