Default looking at 2001 LS430

hei guys... i posted this at the GS forum cuz i've been lurking around that place for 5 years... but I got into an accident and the GS is down and out for now. I found a 2001 LS430 with 25,000 miles for around 35k. I'm looking to find a bodykit and rims. so far, i like the "fabulous" kit for the 2004 version. Is there any way that that kit will fit the 2001 version? are the lights completely different? I really love this car!!! specially with a bodykit! looks mean.

so yea... jus wanted to say hello here and might become a future member of the celsior group.. heheh. hasta la bye bye for now...

How are you going to slap the 2004 bumper on a 2001-2003 body?
For 2004, the bumper, hood, headlights, and the front fenders are all changed. I doubt the bumper will fit considering the rest of the front end isn't changed.

Personally, the 2001 - 2003 LS430 just needs the new 2004 tailights and it will look hot!
Just remember, the 2004 tailights will not snap right in, you will have to replace the trunk too!
What do you guys think, please let me know which one you agree with most, maybe we can have a poll set up on this.

Pick which one of these points you agree with most:

1. 2001 - 2003 LS430 just needs the 2004 LS430 tailights and it will look hot!

or

2. 2001 - 2003 LS430 is an ugly grandpa car, you buy it for whats inside only

or

3. 2001 - 2003 LS430 just needs the 2004 front end and it will look hot!

or

4. There's a difference between the 2001 and the 2004 model?

or

5. The 2001 - 2003 LS430 looks great, why change.

GS4to4,

I dont know, the rear end is ok for now... The front is what makes the 04 look a lot more aggressive (for me). dont get me started... I only wanted the front.. but now you are making me think about the rear! I think my friends at the bodyshop may be able to fit the 04 lights and bumper into the car with some extensive modification. what do you guys think?

It would probably be less costly to boogie on down to your local Lexus store and buy a 2004 ; ~ )

For the 2004, dont the headlights turn while the car is turning? I would imagine that would add onto the cost of a front end 04 conversion if that feature is desired.

That's an optional feature, not standard.

Sounds like you are turning down the road where your poor LS will end up with a alluminum dragster wing and neon tubes...

I hope not!

I've decided I'm just going to get a bodykit on, clear JP taillights, front headlight garnishes from WALD, and some 20's for the car. Three years down the line, I'm gonna "upgrade" to the 04! sounds like a plan...plan initiated.

The adaptive headlights for the LS is STANDARD equipment here on Guam. Certain market areas are only allowed certain "options." Basically all we get here is the ultralux versions.
