I'd like to take out my Lexus link, too.
But from what I understand is when they take out the system, you lost that little voice message recording thingy, right?

My parents use that quite a bit to remind me of what to get at the store..............hmmm, maybe I SHOULD take it out, no?

btw, Happy Thanksgiving to all CL members!

I'm still livid that a marquee like Lexus has such crappy Telematics service. They should have gone with Onstar or another company that does it right. They should offer a conversion for cars that have it. Bastages.

WileCoyote:

Lexus Link is actually Onstar. It's just that Lexus Link is analog so now they are switching over to digital. I also heard that Lexus Link is comming back, sometime next year or so with the digital.

TRD-bB:

Yea, when you bring your car to get your Lexus Link removed, they will completely remove the whole thing. Even the recording thingy and they will replace it with a plain standard sun glass holder. Everything get's removed, even the antenna and the Lexus Link Active Message is gone too. . YAYYYYY

I think you should remove it, there is a Limited campaign for free removal of the lexus Link and it ends Dec of 2007. Take advantage of it. Either way, if u decide to keep your Lexus Link system, No more service will be provided after FEB of 2008...... and what does that mean? It Mean's "The Lexus Link is not active, Press the services button now for more information and blah blah blah blah........"

Hmmmm......... As for the Reminder Feature on the Lexus link, here's an idea....perhaps maybe your parents can write a note instead or somthing. I rather have notes then hear the long annoying inactive message everytime when starting the car. Not only that you can bring your little into the grocery store with u as a shopping list, It's just a suggestion.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE!

I used the Lexus Link the other day, got transferred to the premium service and the lady said, "Hello welcome to Onstar, er Lexus Link"

It looks like OnStar is handeling their premium service now. I really liked it, very helpful.
