Default Cruise controll

I have an LS 430 and a SC 430. Both are pretty similar. But yesterday I found a peculiar differebce and am wondering if it was a different design or does the cruise control on the 04 and 06 work different. On the 04 LS if I come to a complete stop or even close the Cruise control has to be reset when you get back up to speed. you cant just raise the lever and resume. But on the 06 SC after a stop, when you get rolling again, you can raise the lever to resume and it will remember the setting and accelerate back up to it..
Is this just a difference in years, or a fault in my LS. The LS will resume if you dont drop below 5-10 mph.

Hello,

Those systems are indeed different, LS430 was once supplied with a Radar Cruise Control, the one capable of following the Speed other cars. The fact that the Cruise Control in the LS doesn't Resume the Preset once the car slows down appears to be the consequence of the system being rigged for the Radar, regardless of whether your car came with one or not.

Here is an Owners Manual for your car, it states that one of the Conditions to Resume the Preset Speed is for the car to travel at or above 25mph (40km/h). That said, I am not particularly sure why yours can still resume at only 10mph..

Hope this helps and best of luck!

I didnt say it would resume at 10 mph, only that the setting remained in memory so that when I I tod it to resume it would remember the setting. The LS doesnt remember but the SC does remember.
