Circuit Boards
Hi All,
I have a 2005 LS430 with ~24k miles. From my experience with aging cars, circuit boards need new capacitors otherwise they leak and can damage the boards. Is there consensus on which boards should be reconditioned or re-capped (ecu, gauge cluster, climate control boards etc) ? Any particular vendors that have a good track record?
Thank you in advance,

For that year car the ECU. You won't believe how many boards are in this car. Eventually they will all fail but that may be a long time. Main one on this forum is the ECU. There are threads on this and one of the repair centers supports this forum.
At 24k miles I don't think you need to worry about any electrical issues for quite some time.
The capacitors in LS430 computers fail rarely. Early LS400s had lots of problems with theirs, but not the 98-00 nor any of the LS430s.
In the LS430 the problem is early lead-free solder that eventually cracks due to a lifetime of heat-cycles and vibration.
At 24k miles yours hasn't experienced nearly enough vibration or heat-cycles yet.
My 2004 has 150k miles and hasn't had any such problems, yet.
