Default 2005 LS430 with 9k Miles

Hi all,

Im happy to join this forum.
I recently bought what is to be believed as the lowest mileage LS430 in the UK with 9k miles. Its flint mica with ecru interior and here in the UK the only available option was radar cruise with pre collision, this car has that option.

I feel very blessed to own such a museum piece. I will post some pictures when i can.

Many thanks!

9k is remarkable. Please change the timing belt anyway unless you are sure it's recent, then fluids etc. I hope it is not "underused" in a bad way. Looking forward to pictures and story...

Lexus has already replaced the timing belt and fluids. That's good.
The car came from an estate where the original owner used it sparingly. Its an amazing car. Will try and get some pictures soon!

Hey @racingdynamics ! I missed this post originally but I was chatting a bit with you during the BaT auction yesterday. Where are those pics? I wanna see. That is a beautiful color combo. I would almost not want to tint the windows because the Ecru is so striking against the Charcoal Silver exterior.

Alot of rubbers and seals gonna be rotted or needs replacing no matter the mileage.

Hey how's it going.
good win yesterday btw!
I need to take better pictures but here are a few!
I will be keeping everything original, no mods.

A new timing belt and water pump and anything else it needed has already been done.

Also all tyres have been replaced with Michelin Primacy 5.

It's basically a new car.

And you know this, how? Since it came from an "estate", I doubt it was parked outside by the curb for 20 years.

It was kept in a heated garage for all its life

Yeah, I'm not surprised. It's amusing when people make comments on the Internet, as if they're fact, when in reality, they don't know what they're talking about. Congratulations on a truly rare find, what an awesome car. This is the sort of thing enthusiasts dream about.

Congrats, I like museum pieces meaning the condition defies the age!

On my 2006 which has mid 150's now, the spare tire and wheel is new, with the grease markings from the factory. That's about all that is new like that on mine!

Happy motoring!

Yep, she's a beaut. I don't see the stitching along the door, interesting I have never seen a UL without the NAPA leather, but UK spec may have been different. You are going to love that for a long time! Throw a daylight pic at us sometime when you have a chance.

There is validity to the rubber comment, but sitting in a heated garage in England I wouldn't be worried. I lived in the Seattle area for 14 years, similar climate, rubber stays good there for a long time. A garage in Phoenix could be a different story. You may end up doing things like suspension bushings a little prematurely, but who cares?! Totally worth it for that find. The timing belt is the only thing that is going to strand you and blow the car and that is already done. Well done!

"Alot of rubbers and seals gonna be rotted or needs replacing no matter the mileage." Could be, from disuse, but not a sure thing? I've had many repairs on my 170k 2005 UL over 17 years, but I've never yet replaced a single hose or seal. Timing belt, water pump, and serp belt, yes. I know about common failure points (spark plug tubes, valve cover gaskets, etc.) but my car is bone dry and doesn't use any oil between changes. It'd why I am looking to spend on some cosmetic fixes. That car is beautiful, enjoy...

Its definitely semi-aniline leather. But the UL equivalent in the UK did not have the extended leather like in the US. In the UK all the cars came fully optioned (apart from extended leather - not even an option) and the only option (£3,000) was the ACC/PCS. Not many have this option.

I was very lucky to get this car. I bought it from the nicest person you could ever wish to meet which makes it even better. Its sheer automotive perfection IMO. I only have some minor things to do (im extremely fussy with my cars) such as wipers and a few other small things. Im actually looking for stuff to do, but as you can imagine there is nothing.

Flint mica is a glorious colour and the metallic flake is profound and it shifts in different light.

I have a VLINE Grom, but at the last minute i changed my mind as i do not want to take things apart and disrupt the originality. So that will be for sale at some point.

I will take some better pics. I have not used it since late last year (salt on the roads etc)

Gotcha on the leather, but semi-aniline rocks, it's what I have in my ML, requires little care and holds up.
I'm the same as you, no outside equipment, only OEM. I won't do a phone mount or an adaptor for playlists or anything. I don't even want something in the cigarette tray so that I will keep that door shut and just look at the wood. It's a beautiful interior.
That car is special for sure, and getting it from someone like that just confirms and makes it better. I wasn't super keen on my original owner, but he sold me a great car and I too had to pursue a few little things like 3 paintless dent removals and some painting above the driver side doors since it looked like a shelving in a garage had fallen over on it. All fixed and my car has 164k and looks 97% showroom, I bought it at 78k. It will never be for sale.

Congratulations on that great car!

I've had my LS430 9.5 years now. Under my ownership, I picked up one tiny ding (I know body shops say it's a dent, but it's tiny). Seems as careful as one is, someone is gonna get you. Maybe some day I would pay go get rid of it. There were 3 tiny ones when I got it, the kind only I know where they are.

True to life, every single issue that everyone here has had, has happened. Again, because these things were built so consistently. Mine was behind in time and corrosion wise being from FLA, but everything has broken consistently. I don't mean that in a bad way, more or less in a good way--you know what you're faced with on these. I cleaned the power mirror switch but looks like pass mirror has failed going out and in. Power window switch broke and for me there was "no" aftermarket that worked, so I rebuilt that too using aftermarket buttons but my original module. etc. etc.

If a vehicle is physically like OPs, worth it to fix anything that comes along!
