Default Powder Coating Calipers...

Any issues with powder coating the LS430 calipers (rebuilding them)? The stock calipers are fugly as hell and paint just doesn't last. I had the Brembos on my Pontiac powder coated and it was pretty easy getting the pistons and seals out before sending them to the powder coater. I see the rebuild kits are plentiful and pretty inexpensive so I'll see about grabbing a spare set of calipers at the pick-a-part yard if there aren't any issue rebuilding them. Would just need to decide on a color besides red or yellow... car is silver with chrome aftermarket rims.

No issues. I did mine and was pleased with it. Biggest part is going to be picking who will do the work. Definitely use a second set to minimize your down time and only use an OEM seal kit. If you end up needing pistons, they are still available new.

I used R&P Motorsports and Coatings for mine and while the end result was great, the process was pretty miserable and I would NOT recommend them. My Google review for them explains in further detail...

You might try https://unitf14.com/

There are plenty of places in Houston but I didn't get a good feeling from any of them. Overall, it was an expensive project as I did rotors, pads, new caliper mounting bolts, the calipers themselves, rebuild kits, the cost of the service... I want to say like $1500 total all said and done. Also, Prismatic Powder will send you free swatches for any of their colors so you can get a better idea of what you want...

Thanks... I actually had unitf14 do a pair of rear Brembo calipers from a Camaro for my G8 which came stock with front Brembo and rear cheap floaters. I had them do silver to match the fronts and they did a very nice job. When I went to do the front pads I found the front calipers were in poor shape and ended up sending those out after the rears were done. Would have probably went with a different color if I was doing all 4 at once. I see you didn't do any decals... I will probably go with a plain Lexus decal (no logo). I did use Carlson rebuild kits and they are working well... where did you get the OEM kits? The dealer I assume?

The rebuild kits along with the mounting bolts I got from either Partsouq or Bell Lexus. With the tariffs now, you might have to watch ordering from overseas. Kits are only like $20 front or rear.
