Stuck headlight connector on PFL
2001 LS430, trying to slowly work through all the little issues and things that have been unaddressed over its lifetime. I had one of the HID bulbs (or so I thought, actually turns out the ballast is going but that's for a different time) go out on the passenger side so I went and ordered two replacements to change them out on both sides at once. However, the connector from the ballast on the driver's side is stuck. At some point in the past, the car was taken to the dealer and the bulbs were swapped as I've found in the service history. However, the connector on the driver's side was left in the unlocked position and it seems as if there has either been corrosion or something that means I can't remove it. I turned it clockwise to the locked position but it squeaks and groans going counter-clockwise and I can't seem to make it come off. I've considered using a flathead screwdriver to try and pry it open, but I also suspect that I'm just not being able to turn it as far as I need to in order to be able to remove it. Anyone have experience with something like this or ideas about what to do (besides replacing the entire headlight itself)?
