Just got done trying to replace the bulbs in my headlight. Trying was the keyword I had searched earlier and it said to remove the 1 bolt from the top of the headlight and then the two from the underside... After getting my wheel off and removing the screws to the wheel well covering, I could not see any screws anywhere near where the headlight would be. Is this the only way to replace the bulbs ? It is heinously difficult . Any tricks to help or pictures ? I could not find any pictures of the screws I was supposed to be looking for...
Just for an fyi - bulbs were sylvania silverstars :O I thought they looked good in the pictures I saw, and much cheaper than HID retrofit -.- The Lexus techs at my dads store tell me that removing the headlight is very difficult and i started to believe them.
You dont need to remove the headlights to change the bulbs.
On the driver side you may want to move the battery a bit to get more space, but all you need to do is stwist the bulb and pull it out and the passenger side has enough space to take the bulb out easily.
lol...u unscrewed the screws? thats funny man. just for your info, the colored bulbs tend to cause a lot of heat on the stock wire harness. sometimes causing it to melt like it did in mine, twice! so yeah...i'd opt for the hids, brighter, and you can say you have the real deal.
Yeah, as said above - very easy to replace. I did it in the dark first time and I managed it!!
Take care,
Jonny
sent you a pm dunno if you got it - let me know
And I did not know that - I returned the bulbs earlier yesterday when I figured it was harder than it was worth. I may end up doing it later - but who knows - my dad works for lexus so im sure he'll find whatever would work best.
