The pictured "Key" in the Link and 14 step instructions, that was posted is Type B Key. It has a metal blade that goes into the ignition switch, on the dash. Different than my LS430.

MY LS ignition does NOT have a slot (Tumbler) to accept a metal blade. It has a plastic turn ****, with a plastic slot, for Type A (my LS) where one can insert the remote if they wish. Inserting the remote is not necessary. I believe Lexus provided a place for folks familiar with Key ignitions, to make them more acceptable to this .then new, keyless start.

Thank you.
Mine can use either key. I have an A and a B key and both work but the B key does not need to be in the slot, just in the car. I have a second B that will only work if I place it in the plastic ****. I plan on registering another that will work just by being in the car, since my wife and I both use the car.and its a pain in the *** to have that big plastic remote in the dash.

Thanks "tanmap". I could not find that in my Shop manual. I do not know why.

If references inserting the key in the "ignition lock cylinder" My 2006 LS430 does not have an ignition lock cylinder.

The previous attachment is for immobiliser system registration from Identifix. I have attached the registration procedures (additional smart key) from AllData this time.

You should be able to insert the smart key in the ignition lock cylinder. This is my 05 LS430

Thanks "tanmap". Your photo is like my ignition switch. To me it is not a "Lock Cylinder". My LS430 owners manual shows an ignition switch, as your pictured and a another type with an actual lock cylinder with tumblers and a milled metal key that operates the cylinder.

Today I returned to the Toyota dealer, here in St. George, UTAH. The Service Adviser got my car right in, and the Mechanic "programed" "linked" whatever both new Transmitters (Keys) at NO extra charge. They could not have been nicer! Mechanic said he does not know what happened last time as he Linked the keys with my old key present. I told him "It does not matter what happened last time, you did a great job, this time"!

All 3 transmitters work perfectly. I would happily use Steven Wade Toyota again!

THANK YOU ALL!
