Rear Toe Link Compatability
my 2001 LS430's rear Toe Links are worn and need replacement.
The part number is 48705-50010. they are very rare and expensive.
However, the 2004-2006 LS430s call for 48705-50020.
Is the -020 part an upgrade from the -010 or a completely different part?
Can they be used interchangeably? How about other toe links? SC430? etc.

While I agree aftermarket options are available, I prefer to use OEM.
So I am trying to find an OEM equivalent.
Even the possibility of pressing out the swivel joint and just replacing that

I wouldn't call the OEM part rare, both Bell Lexus and Amayama have part number 48705-50010, as well as several other dealers. From my search, they're the exact same price as 48705-50020. Amayama has the best price at around $75 shipped, as long as you can wait for them to come from Japan. Otherwise it looks like they're around $120 and up from a dealer, plus shipping.
As for the differences between 48705-50010 and 48705-50020, they sure look the same but still, Toyota gave them different part numbers for some reason. LexusPartsNow says 48705-50020 doesn't fit a 2001 for whatever that's worth. I know the differential and axles are different between the 01-03 and 04-06 cars, so maybe certain suspension bits are too.

I am not usually one to parrot the "OEM only" mentality, but in the case of these cars since they are built so well from the factory, the quality of the OEM parts is very high and so I always try to use OEM parts when they are available. Even if RockAuto had an "OEM equivalent" part I wouldn't use it.
