Ok..Thought it was factory radio that was loosing audio. Also look at ML tuner and make sure antenna is plugged in and still routing up to antenna in rear windshield. My unit also has wireless car play and AA but don't use it because everything is there on tablet. Unit radio works perfect with $6 external stick on antenna. No telling what previous owner did
Good thing about this is that you should have an antenna source for new unit without having to run wire to back so long as it is all hooked up right. Have you tried the new unit radio?
New unit radio is just static but I never listen to the radio So, I'm not too concerned about that, The antenna wire doesn't make it all the way to the dash. it runs from the trunk up to the front kick panel and then back to the trunk.
If you want the new unit radio just hook up the antenna on back of unit. The interface on mine is a lot better than the oem and sound just as good going through ML amp. You can get an extension for the antenna cable.
It all depends on your unit, can bus, and car year. For mine I had no connector going to top 3 connectors. You said your side buttons worked at one time and did all the AC functions also work in menu? Try all of the cars to get your AC back.

I have one connector that fits up top. My factory temp buttons are working again but the fan speed is wherever it was when I unhooked it.

The fan speed is in the AC menu to change but adjusting the temp buttons at least in my car will change fan speed to get up or down to temp. Did you ever have AC menu that worked? Try all the cars till you find one that works

It is important for the AC app to work as that is where all the AC controls are. What did you do to get the side temp change buttons to work? It sounds like can bus is not communicating with the car. For the connector going into the can bus on mine there is a parallel data 2 wire connector that plugs into the unit. Do you have that? Post here every connection you have to get a better idea as it is possible something is hooked up wrong. Unplug all the RCA plug connectors from your harness. Disconnect the battery to reset the ML system. Are all the female connections on back of unit filled? The way these harnesses are made they will only fit where they are supposed to go thankfully because of no instructions. Got to get the AC app working. Did you buy this with the car and was just not installed by previous owner? Do you have exact Aliexpress link to unit bought? The 2001-2003 are slightly different hookups from the 2004-2006. The ones that say 2001-2006 are universal with extra connectors for either.

To get the side controls working I disconnected the battery.
There is a two wire plug that goes from cam bus to back of Android. (There is another 2 wire plug i believe goes to the OBD plug that is plugged up but not to the OBD.
There is one plug on the back of the unit that is not filled and I have no plug that fits it.
I bought the unit off of a guy on FB. He never got around to installing it but he had a NICE bagged ride he sold for $18K so i assumed he bought a decent one. It is octa core 8gb 128g running android 10.0 I do know he sat on it a while. I do see dates in the info sections and files from 2021. He did say it was for a 2004-2006.
I will get photos of all connections this evening and update.

Ok you have a nice unit. This is a EKIY KK5 from the EKIY global store in aliexpress. Looks like the wire you have going to upper connectors is for Steering Wheel Control by there description. Might try disconnecting and try can bus cars again for AC control. You can actually message them and even send them a picture of your can bus and make sure it is correct. Also do not hook up the obd as I have heard it produces problems.

the harness looks correct but I do have a fan wire that is exposed on the back of my unit. Not quite sure where it goes. I’ll get in touch with them.
