That's a pretty clean looking transmission and looks true to it stated mileage !!
The great finish on the plated brackets and the dipstick tube cannot be cleaned to look as good as that .
Great find cuz !!
I thought the 05 did not have a dipstick.for the transmission.

The tube and bracket in the 3rd pic is not a dipstick tube it's shifter linkage.
The fill port on a 761 is under the black plastic cover on the drivers side of the case
Well it was a success guys!! The car drives like new! The shifting is impeccable now. I didn’t realize how worn out the old one was.The total cost for everything (transmission), labor/taxes to remove and install the new/used trans was around $2700
No codes or anything, I’m so very happy that I chose this route because not only did I save a ton of money, but I got a very low mileage trans which I will take very good care of and not allow it to self destruct by driving it like a dumb *** These cars are cruisers, not Civic Type-R’s. It’s good to finally be able to drive and enjoy the car now. 😎
Too bad JDM does not deal with the 5 speed A650E used in the 2001-2003 LS430. I called them and was told none available. Anyway, next to impossible finding a lower mileage 5 speed from a reputable outfit for my car.

Of course. They also replaced the filter with a new one. I wanted to use the same one that was in the old transmission which was only a couple of months old, but they advised me not to because of old shavings.
No leaks or strange noises, shifting patterns, nothing, just pure buttery smoothness. Now that my mind can focus on the basics of driving and not stressing or worrying about it the trans not shifting properly, I realize how much more quieter the overall drivetrain is compared the LS 460. This transmission shifts even smoother than the 8 speed that’s in the LS 460 which is pretty amazing knowing how smooth that 8 speed is.

That sucks buddy. Keep calling other JDM depots around the U.S. in different states, one is bound to pop up eventually. Keep checking EBay too.
That's pretty awesome! What kind of tires do you have? Yokohama's?
Yeah I believe their Yokohamas in the front or back, the other half are Continentals. I bought the car with these wheels and tires on it. I actually plan on replacing the wheels with chrome 17’s off a 2003 LS430 that I bought recently since I can’t find any 2004-06 chrome stock 18’s anywhere.
I want a smoother ride with a slightly taller sidewall, and the 17’s are perfect for that.
I test drove a ls460l and it definitely feel more peppy, sporty, more power, shifts faster and you hear the engine more, but it does feel more gritty and not as smooth
